On behalf of the International Association of Astacology (IAA), the local organizing and advisory committees are pleased to announce that IAA18 Registration will open January 4, 2010. We ask that you review the entire updated website to help plan your visit.
IAA’s 18th Symposium will be held from July 18-23, 2010 in Columbia, Missouri, USA. We encourage researchers at all levels – scientists, representatives from industry and government, educators, post-docs, and students to submit abstracts for either an oral or poster presentations.
The conference will consist of a five-day scientific program, to be held on the campus of the University of Missouri, with presenters welcome to submit papers on all aspects of freshwater crayfish, including physiology, behavior, ecology, conservation, toxicology, diseases, aquaculture, and genetics, as well as other important topics relevant to crayfish including education and legislative issues.
In addition to oral and poster presentations, IAA18 will include a keynote presentation from Dr. David Lodge, an update from the IUCN concerning their review of the conservation status of crayfish species, a discussion of the future direction of IAA and Freshwater Crayfish, and a conference field trip. We are also very excited to offer the delegates the opportunity to choose from two workshops, four post-conference field trips, and a growing list of professional and social activities including a reprint exchange.
IAA18 will continue the long tradition of renewing old friendships, befriending new colleagues, and mentoring young scientists. We look forward to seeing y’all in Columbia!
