Columbia, Missouri is located on I-70 about 2 hours from both Kansas City (west) and St. Louis (east).
Columbia Regional Airport (COU) offers connections through Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth. The airport is 10 miles south of Columbia, with multiple forms of ground transportation easily accessible. Taxi service (approx. $25) is available to the hotel or campus. Rental cars are also available with Hertz and Enterprise.
For those who'd rather fly into a larger airport, Columbia is located midway between St. Louis International (STL) and Kansas City International (MCI) airports. Columbia is about a 2-hour drive from the St. Louis airport (STL) and a 2.5-hour drive from the Kansas City airport (MCI).
Parking at all of the locations is free. If visiting campus during the day, please use a metered space or purchase a temporary parking permit. MU Garages and lots are metered weekdays until 5 pm. For the evening performance at Rhynsburger Theatre, we suggest you park in the University or Hitt Street Parking Structures.
The Wednesday night opening will be held at the Museum of Art & Archaeology at Mizzou North (115 W. Business Loop 70 W).
The conference daytime sessions will be held in the conference hotel, the Hampton Inn & Suites (1225 Fellows Place).
The MU Corner Playhouse is located on the northeast corner of University Avenue and Hitt Street (map, directions, parking). A shuttle will be offered from the conference hotel for our out-of-town guests.
Please visit the registration desk at the museum on Wednesday or come to the lobby in Hampton Inn during the rest of the week to pick up your materials.
Participants are responsible for making their own room reservations. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hampton Inn & Suites. Use the hotel's conference-specific online registration or contact them directly and ask for the Afro-Cuban Artists (group code ACA) room block. Guaranteed room rate of $119 has been extended until Monday, April 4 at 5 pm, CST.
