Thanks to your valuable input and assistance, plans for the 35th Annual Conference on the Young Years are moving right along! We are thrilled with this year's line-up of keynote and featured speakers. Dr. Lilian Katz will start things off at the Pre-Conference on Thursday. That evening, we are delighted to present children's author Mem Fox--straight from Australia--at the Special Welcome session for all conference participants. Friday's schedule features Dr. Joshua Sparrow, Dr. Brad Mears, and Isabel Baker. Sesame Street's Sonia Manzano and maestro Dr. Thomas Moore will enlighten and entertain us at the banquet on Friday evening. We'll wrap things up on Saturday with Dr. Moore's closing keynote address and featured speakers Jill Molli and Willy Wood.

We continue to need your help to ensure the smooth operation of the conference. There will be a Planning Committee dinner on Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Parasol II to discuss assignments and other business. As a token of our appreciation, the conference registration fee (includes Friday breakfast and lunch and Saturday breakfast), the Friday night banquet, and lodging at Tan-Tar-A for Thursday and Friday nights will be complimentary. We would appreciate you sharing a room if at all possible.

The MU Conference Office will make all reservations for planning committee members and presenters. Please use the Presenter/Planning Committee Confirmation Form to make your request for lodging and to indicate the presentations you would like to attend. Return your completed form to the MU Conference Office, 344 Hearnes Center, Columbia, MO 65211, or by fax to (573) 882-1953. We will need this information as soon as possible, but no later than noon on February 1, 2008. If we have not heard from you by this date, we will assume that you do not want lodging. Any cancellations in room reservations must be made 72 hours in advance to Lorie Bousquet at the MU Conference Office at (573) 882-6059. Room reservations that are not cancelled within 72 hours will be billed directly to the assigned occupants by Tan-Tar-A Resort.

NOTE: Committee members are needed to help during the Pre-Conference on Thursday. If you are interested in helping with this, please indicate the time at which you would be available on the confirmation form.
