Summer Institute Session I Hazardous Waste Management, is a comprehensive review of generator management issues. The attendees receive extensive handouts including EPA, DOT, and OSHA related CFRs, and other important materials used daily, on the job, by professionals in the field. The pace of the session, while brisk, is adjusted by the instructors as needed to accommodate the questions and concerns of the attendees.

Summer Institute Session II The Compliance with DOT Regulations: Training, Testing and Certification training elements meet the general requirements for hazmat employee training within 90 days of hazmat shipment duty assignment. This session accomplishes hazmat employee familiarization in safe loading, unloading, handling, storage, and shipment. Security awareness and security planning topics are also addressed. Attendees are tested, instructor certified, and provided with a hazmat employee/employer training record as required for compliance with the regulations. While this session can be used to comply with DOT's initial training requirement, the Summer Institute version of this session is primarily intended for the retraining of experienced hazmat employees and is paced accordingly.
