Summer Institute Session I Hazardous Waste Management (previously called the Introduction to Hazardous Waste Management: Intermediate), is a comprehensive review of generator management issues. The attendees receive extensive handouts including EPA, DOT, and OSHA related CFRs, and other important materials used daily, on the job, by professionals in the field. The pace of the session, while brisk, is adjusted by the instructors as needed to accommodate the questions and concerns of the attendees.

Summer Institute Session II Prior to 2013, the Advanced Hazardous Waste Management training was held during the last two days of the Summer Institute. However, due to increased demand for hazmat employee training, the Compliance with DOT Regulations: Training, Testing and Certification session developed for the Winter Institute (see the Mission page for a description) is now held in the last two days of the Summer Institute. While this session can be used to comply with DOT's initial training requirement, the Summer Institute version of this session is primarily intended for the retraining of experienced hazmat employees and is paced accordingly.
