General Information

Symposium Schedule
Registration check-in will be available for your convenience on Saturday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and again each day of the Symposium. The Symposium begins on Sunday morning and continues with numerous concurrent sessions throughout the day and again all day on Monday. After morning sessions, the Symposium closes Tuesday at noon with special door prizes being given away at the traditional brunch.

Pre-Registration
Pre-Registration is due in our office by April 2, 2007. Any registrations postmarked after that date will need to pay the $25 late fee. A confirmation letter will be sent to you once your registration has been processed.

Registration Fees

  • $195.00 Member Fee for NTRS, ATRA, or State Therapeutic Recreation Members
  • $195.00 Member Fee for Other Health Related Professional Associations. Please list the association name on the registration form for approval.
  • $210.00 for Non-Members
  • $165.00 for Students (Currently enrolled undergraduates only – must enclose a photocopy of valid student ID with this registration form)
  • $140.00 for Single Day for Friday, Saturday or Sunday
  • $75.00 for Student Room Host (Prior approval required, please send in registration form, along with a copy of a valid current student id and/or letter from your advisor)

Registration fee includes admission to all educational sessions, TR Exhibits, Wine and Cheese Reception, and the closing Symposium Brunch on Tuesday.

Please Note: Registration/Payment Policy
All attendees are required to register and pay the appropriate fee. Please use the Registration Form on page 37 and mail prior to the Symposium. You will be mailed a confirmation letter when your registration is received. If paying with a purchase order please mail the purchase order along with your registration form. Purchase order numbers will not be accepted.

Continuing Education Units
Continuing Education Units (CEU) credit is determined by the length of the presentation. For example, attendance at an hour session will earn .10 CEU and at an hour and a half session will earn .15 CEU. The total of all sessions attended will yield the total CEU awarded for attending the Midwest Symposium. In order to earn the maximum of 2.0 CEU a participant will need to attend 20 hours of program sessions, which includes the Keynote on Sunday (.10 CEU). The total CEU awarded will very by participant according to the number of sessions attended. You will be required to sign in and out at each session. CEU certificates will be mailed after the Symposium to the home address given on your registration form. Please allow 6 – 8 weeks for processing. Your social security number must be on your registration form to process CEU credit. CEU office is located by the conference registration desk.

Location – Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet – St. Louis, Missouri
The conference will be held at the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet in St. Louis, Missouri, in St. Louis’s Westport Plaza. The Lakeside Chalet resembles a cozy lodge and is located on beautiful Westport Lake. Please check in directly at that hotel, and not the Sheraton Plaza Tower. Our conference and block of rooms will be located at the Chalet. The hotel offers complimentary parking in the Clocktower garage and surface lot parking in front of the hotel.  Please be sure to bring the parking ticket in for validation at the front desk. 

The hotel is located just 8 minutes from Lambert International Airport, 10 minutes from historic St. Charles, and fifteen minutes from Forest Park - home of the Saint Louis Zoo, Science Center, Art Museum and the History Museum. Extend your stay and take in some of the additional sites: the Gateway Arch, a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Game, or Six Flags. Currently, the Cardinals are scheduled to play on the final day of the Symposium, Tuesday, April 24 at 7:10pm. Please Note Special Hotel Rate: The rate for the Midwest Symposium is $99.00 per room per night for Single/Double Occupancy. The block of rooms will be held for Midwest Symposium participants until March 19, 2007. After this date, the block of rooms will be open to the public and available on a first-come basis.
