Welcome to the MU Extension Program Conference
MU Extension invites you to our fall Program Conference, Oct. 21–23, 2014, at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia. Our centennial celebration theme will continue, “Celebrating the Past, Building for the Future.” This is an opportunity for faculty and staff engaged in programming to network with colleagues, welcome new staff and work on our core competencies. We look forward to continuing our centennial celebration as an organization.
We’ve invited Chancellor Loftin to present at our awards banquet. We’ve incorporated more breakout sessions (32) and fewer general sessions with more activity. Dr. Hank Foley will give the keynote presentation on entrepreneurship, and State Extension Council Chair Anita Hampton will highlight how extension makes a difference in people’s lives. Connections to research will take center stage with breakout sessions and a poster exhibit combined with the Epsilon Sigma Phi ice cream break. Professional associations will have an opportunity to meet, and you will be able to bid on items at UMEA’s annual silent auction benefiting professional development. Our evening includes historical movies and videos from extension’s past and an opportunity to take part in a giant Clue board game. Dr. Marshall Stewart, special assistant to the dean and director of College Strategy and Leadership at North Carolina State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, will be the closing speaker.
Extension retirees are encouraged to attend the Monday program, beginning with the lunch and a welcome from me, festivities for the centennial celebration, recognition of a few award winners and the retiree meeting.
We look forward to seeing you at the fall Program Conference.
