Welcome to the MU Extension Program Conference
Please mark your calendars for the 2015 Extension Summit. This event, formerly known as the Fall Conference or Annual Meeting, will be held in Columbia on Oct. 27-29, at the Holiday Inn Executive Center.
Perhaps you are wondering why the name change? Aside from a distinctive name that is often used for gatherings where there is an exchange of ideas, information and knowledge, the change reflects that our conferences need not take place in the fall or on an annual basis.
As you might imagine, the Summit Conference Committee has been busy planning the event while taking into consideration the comments you shared after the last conference. I think you will be pleased with the changes and refinements they are making.
The Summit will engage you and other members of Team Extension as you network with peers, welcome new staff, recognize accomplishments, work on core competencies during breakout sessions and become inspired by keynote speakers in the general sessions.
In addition to the daytime events, I have arranged a time for you and your peers to have a dialogue with me as we collectively explore our challenges and the road ahead. I look forward to connecting with you.
As has been our custom, there will be opportunities for professional associations to meet and retirees to congregate. You will also be able to update your portrait photos, get a flu vaccination and schedule a visit with extension’s HR benefits personnel. It will be a full three days!
Along with the rest of the leadership team, I look forward to seeing you at our 2015 Extension Summit!
Interim Vice Provost and Interim Director of Cooperative Extension
