General Information

Registration
There are several ways to register including online or by using the printable registration form. Please complete all the information on the registration form and choose your session choices (1st, 2nd, & 3rd) under each breakout session. If you register online, you will only be allowed to choose available sessions. If you choose to register with a purchase order, you must fax an approved copy of the purchase order to (573) 882-1953 attention Lindsay McCall.

Register early! Seating is limited by room size, and all sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you received a brochure, bring it with you to the conference for easy access to the schedule and session descriptions. Additional copies will be available on site.

By registering, you give your permission to distribute your name and contact information to conference attendees and vendors. If you prefer not to be included in these distributed lists, you should include a written request with your registration for your contact information to be omitted.

Refund Policy
We would be happy to refund your registration fee if your written request is received by the MU Conference Office by November 13, 2008. You will be held responsible for payment on purchase orders and invoices unless cancelled in writing by November 13, 2008. No refunds will be issued after this date; however, substitutions are welcome. No refunds will be given due to inclement weather. Please contact the MU Conference Office at (573) 882-9554 for information on sending a substitution.

Ticket Exchange
If you decide you do not want to attend a breakout session that you originally requested, you may return your ticket for that session to the ticket exchange board located at the conference registration desk. You may then choose another ticket from those available.

Meals
The pre-conference registration fee includes lunch on Thursday. The full conference registration fee includes breakfast on Friday and Saturday and lunch on Friday. Other registration categories include meals as well. Please refer to the registration form for more information and be sure to select the meals you will attend when registering.

Lodging
Be certain to make your own room reservations by calling Tan-Tar-A Resort at (800) 826-8272 or (573) 348-3131. Reservations at the conference rate of $87 + tax are guaranteed if made by October 22, 2008, then on a space available basis until the conference date. Please ask for the “Primary Conference” room block for the conference rate! Up to four people may share a room. Register early if you prefer a room in the main resort, or if you need special accommodations. Check-in is at 4:00 p.m.; check-out is at noon.

Tan-Tar-A requires a deposit of one night’s lodging or a credit card number to confirm reservations and will refund deposits if cancellation notice reaches the Reservations Department 72 hours before your scheduled arrival date. You will forfeit your deposit if you arrive later or depart earlier than your indicated reservation dates. Go to http://tan-tar-a.com for details on accommodations and activities at the resort.

Helpful Hints for a Successful Conference
  • Attend the presentations for which you have registered and have tickets. Tickets are required for some presentations, such as presentations with limited enrollment and full sessions. Please have tickets available for collection at the door for these presentations.
  • Trade tickets at the ticket booth if you decide to change presentations.
  • You must wear your name tag at all times.
  • Many meeting rooms are small and there is not space for baby strollers. Please make child care arrangements so your small children are taken care of while you are in sessions. Please do not bring children to breakout presentations.
  • The conference evaluation form will be e-mailed to you after the conference; please take time to complete it. We value your feedback!
  • Please check signs posted by the registration desk for conference-related announcements.
  • Ringing cell phones in sessions are a distraction to both the speakers and attendees. If you must carry a cell phone, please set it to “vibrate” and sit near the door so that you may slip out unobtrusively to answer your call.
  • Relax and enjoy yourself!

Visit the Exhibits-Windgate Hall
Plan to browse the exhibits from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday in Windgate Hall. The best times to do so are found in the conference schedule.

Autographing Sessions
Don’t miss your opportunity to buy books by our featured authors and have them autographed! Check your conference materials and signs posted by the registration desk for the autographing session schedule.
