The University of Missouri and The Western Association of Agricultural Experiment Station Directors (WAAESD) are pleased to host a two-day workshop on grant writing. The November 10th portion of the workshop focuses on NIFA (National Institute of Food and Agriculture, formally known as CSREES)-USDA Funding Opportunities, which includes the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI), Higher Education, Multicultural Alliances and International Programs, Integrated Research, Education and Extension Programs, Children Youth and Families at Risk Program, Pest Management Alternatives Program (PMAP), and Small Business Innovation Research Programs (SBIR). NIFA staff responsible for the administration of the various programs will make presentations.
The November 11th Writing Winning Grants Workshop focuses on how to navigate the grant writing process. Participants will be walked through the process of developing a successful grant submission, how to participate in the review process, proposal organization, and the development of integrated team proposals and will also highlight common errors and what should be avoided.
The workshops will be held November 10 – 11, 2009 at the Embassy Suites, Kansas City, MO as part of a two-day series offered by the USDA, NIFA, WAAESD, and University of Missouri. When taken together, participants gain a complete understanding of the grant writing and review processes.
The workshop is designed for an audience of researchers, extension specialists, educators and administrators.
