Welcome to Seattle

The doctors and staff of Animal Cancer Specialists in Seattle, Washington are honored to be hosting the Veterinary Cancer Society's 28th Annual Conference, “Reigning in Education”. Our goal this year is to have over 500 attendees from across our beautiful nation and the world. We are proud of Seattle and all that it has to offer and happy to have a chance to share it with friends new and old. Not only is Seattle well known for its natural beauty and resources, we believe that attendees will also enjoy the proximity of the strong biomedical community in the Emerald City as highlighted by our keynote speakers: Dr. Sandra Vermeulen, medical co-director of Seattle CyberKnife Center and Dr. Rainer F. Storb of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

We do hope you'll join us in beautiful, albeit sometimes damp, downtown Seattle. (Don't worry, umbrellas will be available!) With a view of Puget Sound, the Westin offers a central location to many of the sights and top destinations that Seattle has to offer (Safeco and Qwest Fields, Pike Place Market, premier shopping and the Pacific Science Center, to name a few). In mid-October, we still often have average highs near 60°. We're also excited that in lieu of a traditional banquet, this year, we are offering an evening at the Experience Music Project. Monday afternoon, after a few free hours to explore Seattle's restaurants, shops and museums, a quick ride on the Monorail will bring you to the EMP. Warm up your vocal cords and bring your rhythm for the interactive exhibitions and enjoy the many galleries. There will be no-host bars, hors d'oeuvres and desserts and the awards presentation during the event.

We look forward to seeing you all here in October. Please do consider bringing the family along with you; with so much to see and do, a great time will be had by all.

See you in the fall.
