Libbie Hampton has been educating students for the past twenty-two years.  She has a Masters Degree in Gifted Education and a Specialist Degree in Administration.  Libbie has been a lead teacher working on such reforms as professional learning communities, Coalition of Essential Schools, and Model Schools Project.  She has been Kagan trained in both cooperative learning and multiple intelligence strategies, which she incorporated within her classroom.  She currently is working as a Content Specialist for the Missouri Reading Initiative.

Libbie will present Sessions #2 and #13 on Friday, March 2nd.





Image of Christian GoeringChris Goering directs the English Education program, Northwest Arkansas Writing Project, and Center for Children & Youth at the University of Arkansas. Previously, Dr. Goering taught English Language Arts at the secondary level in Kansas and was recognized for his teaching excellence as a 2004 NCTE High School Teacher of Excellence. 

Dr. Goering studies the confluence of popular music and the teaching of English in middle/secondary settings.  His work has appeared in the Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, English Journal, The NWP Quarterly, American Secondary Education, and in several book chapters. He actively serves on the executive board of the Arkansas Council of Teachers of English of English Language Arts and on the NCTE Secondary Section Steering Committee. Goering teaches graduate courses in middle and secondary English teaching methods, education in popular school films, and interdisciplinary teaching. Chris will present Sessions #7 and #16 on Friday, March 2nd.

Tony Primeau and Candy Holloway are high school English teachers in the Fort Zumwalt School District.  They have worked with the Missouri Reading Initiative, and they both are a part of the Gateway Writing Project.  With more than thirty years of experience between them, they have piloted new programs, led professional learning communities, and have presented their classroom successes at Write to Learn and other regional workshops multiple times.  Be prepared to get digital in their two-part workshop series.

Tony and Candy will present Sessions #19 and #29 on Friday, March 2nd.




Image of Mary Kim SchreckMary Kim Schreck is a highly-sought consultant and coach, as well as a poet and author.  She is particularly interested in how creativity impacts every phase of the educational process and is associated with student engagement and reaching equity.  After spending thirty-six years in the classroom, she currently serves as an education consultant for Solution Tree Press and has been working in partnership with Dr. Bonnie Davis as a cadre member for Educating For Change.  

Mary Kim has published six books in the last eight years-four books of poetry and two professional development books: Transformers: Creative Teachers for the 21st Century (2009), published by Corwin Press, and You've Got to Reach Them to Teach Them (2010), published by Solution Tree Press.  Mary Kim has served as editor of Missouri Teachers Write for three years, and has written numerous articles for national and state education journals.

Mary Kim will present Session #6 on Friday, March 2nd, and Session #38 on Saturday, March 3rd.
